As the trend for Bling Phones took off, more and more people wanted them – but the handsets came at a cost. Always on the lookout for fantastic opportunities for our clients, we created the Girls Just Wanna Have Bling Kit – a do-it-yourself-at-home kit to make your own phone sparkle and shine.

The kit contained everything you needed to bling up your phone, iPod, laptop, hairbrush, front door…whatever you wanted! The original version contained genuine Swarovski crystals, but later lines were created at even lower prices by using synthetic crystals – bringing bling in to the pocket money range!

Several magazines, including Smash Hits and CosmoGirl, offered our kits as prizes in competitions, and we supplied kits for celebrity goody bags at the ITV Record of the Year event. Never has the UK had so much sparkle!

This particular example features a depiction of the Union Flag – the rich colours make this an ideal candidate for photography.

The phone itself wasn’t the world’s greatest, but large flat areas lent themselves well to customization.

Where once there were normal, boring phones – let us bring forth the BLING PHONE!

The VK530 Pink, customized with genuine Swarovski crystals, most often Rose, Light Rose and Crystals, was one of our earliest products. They are an item that is still asked about to this day, but unfortunately the handsets are no longer available. A lilac and red version were also produced, and for a while this handset was the ‘icon’ that defined Girls Just Wanna Have Bling.
